It's not new age, it's NOW age. 

Hebrews says that Jesus IS ETERNAL SALVATION FOR ALL THAT OBEY HIM

Now what does Paul say:Romans 10:9 That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shalt be saved.

ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS SAY SOMETHING RIGHT? NO OBEDIENCE NECESSARY, RIGHT?
JUST CONFESS JESUS AS LORD

BUT JESUS HAS SOMETHING TO SAY ABOUT CONFESSING HIM AS LORD

Luke 6:46King James Version (KJV) 46 And why do you call me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

SO JESUS IS BEING VERY SPECIFIC IN SAYING THAT IF YOU ARE NOT DOING WHAT HE SAID TO DO HE COULD NOT BE YOUR LORD. AND PAUL SAID HE MUST BE YOUR LORD FOR YOU TO BE SAVED.

NOW YOU FEEL THAT TEACHING OBEDIENCE TO JESUS CHRIST IS NEW AGE

Luke6:47 Whosoever comes to me, and hears my sayings, and does them, I will show you to whom he is like:

Luke 6:48 He is like a man who built a house, and dug deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.

Luke6:49 But he that hears, and does not, is like a man that without a foundation built a house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.

SO THERE ARE THE WORDS DIRECTLY FROM JESUS JOHN
YOU CANNOT CALL HIM LORD UNLESS YOU OBEY HIS TEACHINGS AND IF YOU DO NOT
OBEY HIS TEACHINGS THEN YOUR HOUSE WILL FALL.

JESUS SACRIFICE WAS FOR THOSE WHO WOULD RECEIVE HIM AS LORD BUT AS YOU CAN
SEE, ONLY THOSE WHO ARE OBEDIENT TO HIM CAN DO SO
